An antique mantel clock by the Seth Thomas Clock Co. of Thomaston, Connecticut. The architectural case features a black finish, flanked by columns, with decorative cast metal lion head handles on the sides and ornate feet. The dial is marked "Seth Thomas" and the brass movement is visible through the rear access panel.

Condition

Request Condition Report
The clock is in antique, as-found condition and requires cleaning and restoration. The entire exterior is covered in a thick layer of dust and grime. The black finish shows numerous scuffs, scratches, and areas of wear, particularly on the edges and top. The paper dial is discolored, stained, and has losses around the winding arbors. The metal feet and handles exhibit significant tarnish and finish wear. The rear access door is held in place with green tape. The operational condition of the movement is unknown; it has not been tested and is sold as-is.

* After the auction, Please arrive within the two day pickup time by appointment, or request shipping in that time. Shipping cost= Handling + Postage (usually UPS or USPS). Handling fees for in-house shipping is (per lot): $15 for small lots, $40 for art and furniture. We use Shippo.com to get you the most competitive rate possible. Shipments are processed the week after the auction sells. For local pick up, Follow the signup link we will email you after the auction to let us know when you'll be arriving. If you do not see the email, check your spam folder first, then email info@fairauctionco.com to have it resent.

 

* For items which remain un-claimed beyond the pickup window: Standard storage fees are $5 per lot, per day, beginning the next Tuesday following the pickup window.

 

* We will not assume a buyer requires shipping for any reason. The buyer agrees to request shipping in writing to info@fairauctionco.com, and they risk forfeiting their items if this request is not made within 7 days of the auction close. No refund will be extended as a result of buyer forfeiture.
