This offering features a set of two antique stoneware crocks. The larger crock, from Western Stoneware Co. of Monmouth, Illinois, is a 5-gallon capacity with a distinctive blue maple leaf and floral decoration. The smaller crock is a 1 1/2 gallon capacity with its size inscribed on the front.

Request Condition Report
The 5-gallon crock exhibits notable wear consistent with its age and utility. The handles show significant rust and loss of finish on the bail, with some chipping on the ceramic handle mounts. The interior has considerable residue and discoloration, particularly around the base, and there are chips and flaking around the rim. The 1 1/2-gallon crock also shows age-related wear, including residue inside and general surface discoloration. Both pieces bear surface scratches and minor imperfections typical of vintage stoneware.

* After the auction, Please arrive within the two day pickup time by appointment, or request shipping in that time. Shipping cost= Handling + Postage (usually UPS or USPS). Handling fees for in-house shipping is (per lot): $15 for small lots, $40 for art and furniture. We use Shippo.com to get you the most competitive rate possible. Shipments are processed the week after the auction sells. For local pick up, Follow the signup link we will email you after the auction to let us know when you'll be arriving. * For items which remain un-claimed beyond the pickup window: Standard storage fees are $5 per lot, per day, beginning the next Tuesday following the pickup window.

 

* We will not assume a buyer requires shipping for any reason. The buyer agrees to request shipping in writing to info@fairauctionco.com, and they risk forfeiting their items if this request is not made within 7 days of the auction close. No refund will be extended as a result of buyer forfeiture.
