This antique walnut and pine blanket chest or coffer features a traditional lift-top design, providing ample storage space. The piece is constructed with paneled sides and rests on four turned feet, characteristic of early American or European folk furniture. A keyhole is visible on the front, suggesting it was originally lockable. The natural wood grain is prominent, showcasing the material's inherent beauty, complemented by a warm, aged patina. Its simple yet robust construction makes it a versatile piece suitable for various interior styles, from rustic to traditional, functioning as a storage solution or an accent piece. The dimensions are 22 inches in height, 45 inches in width, and 21 inches in depth.

The chest exhibits significant signs of age and use, consistent with its antique nature. The wooden surface shows numerous scratches, scuffs, and areas of discoloration, particularly on the front and top. There are visible water marks or stains on the front panel. The edges and corners display wear, with some chipping and loss of material. The finish is worn in various places, revealing the bare wood beneath. The turned feet show scuffs and minor damage. The overall structural integrity appears sound, but the piece would benefit from restoration to address the cosmetic imperfections.
