This Meriden Silver Plate Co. Aesthetic Movement coffee pot, dated 1874, features an elegant form with intricate floral engraving and a prominent initial 'S' on its body. The piece showcases detailed scrollwork on the handle, spout, and base, characteristic of the era's decorative arts. Its design reflects the sophisticated aesthetic preferences of the late 19th century.

The silver plate coffee pot exhibits significant wear consistent with age and use. The exterior has numerous scratches and areas of plating loss, particularly noticeable around the base and handle attachments. The interior shows substantial oxidation and rust spots, especially at the bottom, indicating prolonged exposure to moisture or liquids. A notable crack is present on the interior lining near the rim. The hinged lid operates correctly, but the finial shows some minor tarnishing. There is an auction sticker on the side of the pot.

* After the auction, Please arrive within the two day pickup time by appointment, or request shipping in that time. Shipping cost= Handling + Postage (usually UPS or USPS). Handling fees for in-house shipping is (per lot): $15 for small lots, $40 for art and furniture. We use Shippo.com to get you the most competitive rate possible. Shipments are processed the week after the auction sells. For local pick up, Follow the signup link we will email you after the auction to let us know when you'll be arriving. If you do not see the email, check your spam folder first, then email info@fairauctionco.com to have it resent.

 

* For items which remain un-claimed beyond the pickup window: Standard storage fees are $5 per lot, per day, beginning the next Tuesday following the pickup window.

 

* We will not assume a buyer requires shipping for any reason. The buyer agrees to request shipping in writing to info@fairauctionco.com, and they risk forfeiting their items if this request is not made within 7 days of the auction close. No refund will be extended as a result of buyer forfeiture.
